In 2023, MTRWESTERN was awarded an Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Zero Emission Fueling Infrastructure Grant to support the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at our Portland facility. We’re proud to announce that the infrastructure is now fully installed and operational, laying the groundwork for a cleaner, more sustainable future in transportation.
The new charging system supports our growing electric fleet of charter buses and shuttle vans, reinforcing MTRWESTERN’s commitment to reducing emissions across the Pacific Northwest. These chargers will power daily operations across a wide range of services, from corporate shuttle service to private group charters.
“This project is a big step forward in our long-term vision to build a smarter, greener transportation network,” said Jeremy Butzlaff, President of MTRWESTERN. “We’re grateful to the Oregon DEQ for their support in helping us move toward a zero-emissions future. This infrastructure doesn’t just serve our fleet, it serves the communities we drive through every day.”
As we look ahead, this investment is one of many initiatives underway to transition more of our fleet to electric, all while delivering the high-quality, professional service MTRWESTERN is known for. From Portland to Seattle and beyond, we’re committed to leading the charge in clean, reliable mobility.
